Brent Zeringue
Brent and Karen Zeringue have been married forty-two years. They are the parents of eleven children, ages eighteen through thirty-eight, and twenty-one grandchildren (so far). All Zeringue children were entirely homeschooled. Six are graduates of Christendom College, Holy Cross College, the University of New Orleans, and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Their vocations include secondary teacher, seminarian counselor, project managers, artist, stay-at-home mothers, and post-graduate student.
Brent holds a B.A. degree in Biology with a minor in History from the University of Northern Colorado and a B.S. in Education from the University of New Orleans. His teaching experience includes
½ year in a public school, 6½ years in a Catholic school, and 20 years teaching homeschool students in Carencro, Church Point, Lafyette, and Lake Charles. Brent is pleased to have taught thousands of students in his career.
A member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Brent was the founder of KEPHA (a Catholic father-son organization), Agnus Dei (the Catholic Homeschool Association of New Orleans), and the Human Life Club at the University of Northern Colorado. As a pro-life, motivational, chastity, and culture wars speaker, Brent has given presentations at high schools, men's retreats, education conferences, and Respect Life rallies in Virginia, Colorado, Maryland, Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Florida, and Louisiana. He is a former winner of the National Youth Pro-Life Essay Contest; his articles and skits have appeared in This Rock, Celebrate Life, the New Oxford Review, Southern Renaissance, and several other publications. He has been interviewed on radio and television, including the Al Kresta show and EWTN's Life on the Rock. Brent has planned or led over fifty retreats across the country and two to Rome. He enjoys canoeing, hiking, vegetable gardening, writing, playing basketball, and (like Forrest Gump) cutting grass on his tractor, but not because he’s a retired “gazillionaire.”
